When you think things couldn’t get any worse

So today, I decide to ask Wookis’ Sperm donor to give me a ride to work. I don’t have my driver’s license back yet and I don’t have a car yet anyway so still no ride to work. Well, on the way out of Podunk, there are those awful red and blue flashing lights in the review mirror.

Well Sperm Donor seemed a little too worried for my comfort. The police officer came to the window and asked to see his driver’s license and insurance. Well dumb ass didn’t have either of course, but he gave them his ID and asked the officer what was wrong.

“Passenger doesn’t have her seatbelt on” Oops, my bad (do people still say that?)

Well he took both of our IDs and went back to his car. Dumb Ass, still looks extremely worried.

“Look,” I say, “I’m sorry.  I just wasn’t paying attention. I know you don’t have your insurance card, but he’ll just give you a ticket. As long as you have insurance, you go to court and prove it and they let you go. No big deal. I’ll get a ticket for not having my seat belt on.”

Ten minutes later, I am really beginning to worry. Especially when another cop pulls up. The two cops stand there talking for a few minutes and then one of them walks up to Dumb Ass’ window.

“Can you please step out of the car sir?”

Shit, what did he do now.

“Sir, you are being arrested for driving on a revoked license.”

The words going through my head were not very nice. I do not know why I continually believe the bull shit that guy tells me anymore.

As Wookis and I sat there watching him get handcuffed and put into the police car. The other police officer walked up to us and asked if we could find another ride.

And of course when I call no one is picking up their phone. The one guy who does is at least an hour away driving home from Chi-town. Goddamn it!

So now, not only am I stuck without a ride, my son has now watched his father get arrested. That man is an effing moron! I don’t understand why, first he would lie, and second why he would drive all the way to Podunk which is at least a half our from where he lives.

At least we were still in Podunk, since the second officer offered to give me a ride home. And since no one picked up when I called, I called my boss and took a vacation day.

So Wookis and I tried to do some bike riding. While the pictures look like he was doing well. He really wasn’t. He just puts his feet on the ground and pushed himself. But we did have fun in the nice spring weather. It ended with us looking at some leaves that were on the ground and a calming round of finger painting.

At least we made the best of what could have been a crappy day.
