The Beginning

Okay my first foray into the world of blogging.

I sit here and religiously read other the thoughts of others and finally today I have decided to add my own perspective on the world. Not that it is anything shocking or even all that intelligent all the time, but i want to just throw my thoughts out there. Anonomously, of course, without the strange looks that come with I turn off that filter in my brain and blurt out the first thing that comes to mind.

So let me tell you little about myself…
I am a single mom fighting to survive the daily grind. I have a job that I love/hate, a child that I am completely devoted to, and a wonderful new boyfriend that I am still learning to love.

Born in So Cal, a wonderful place to grow up…riding bikes, practicing for the Olympic gymnastic team, just loving life. Around second grade or so my mom got remarried and we moved to Okinawa, Japan. (Yes, I said Japan. And no I do NOT speak Japanese and I have never met the Karate Kid. Don’t ask.) We lived there for several years then moved to a small town in Central Illinois. From there, we floated between Illinois and California with a brief stint in Nevada.

Around May 2004 I met Sperm Donor (you’ll probably hear more about him, as he is an idiot) and on February 9th 2005 I had a beautiful baby boy, we’ll call him Wookis, a charming nickname my sister has given him.

Three and a half years ago, I moved back in with my mother. Pregnant with a dead-beat boyfriend, my mom begged me to move back home. Against what I thought was my better judgment, I moved in. I have my baby, and several medical issues, a year later found out that Mom was suffering from colon/rectal cancer. For two years she bravely fought that cancer. Until the cancer finally won. On November 30th, 2007 my beautiful mother died at home.

Now, I am currently living with my two brothers, a sister, an evil ex-step-father, two charming dogs and currently an unknown amount of fish (I NEED TO CLEAN THAT TANK). I have a wonderful boyfriend. He is sweet, charming, smart, funny and loving.

Through the series of almost comical mishaps that have been my life up till now, I have managed to survive. Now with my horrible credit, mediocre job and charming child, I am looking to move out of the house that I have spent my last two years. A terrifying prospect.
